Ríobart É. (Rob) Breen, Ph.D. is a Fellow with the Anam Circle Think Tank.  He is the founder and executive director of the Anam Earth Center for Sustainability and Culture, a senior climate policy analyst for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s Office of Climate Change and a lecturer in the Biodiversity, Conservation and Policy program at the University at Albany (State University of New York) in the Geography and Planning Department.  He earned an M.A. and Ph.D. in environmental and natural resources policy and administration at Northern Arizona University, and a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences and art from the State University of New York at Geneseo. He has extensive experience in natural resources conservation, youth and young adult leadership, nonprofit and government administration, policy analysis, and systems innovation in partnership with urban, rural and tribal communities and institutions.  His research interests include climate change adaptation and resilience, ecosystem-based management, ecosystem-based adaptation, environmental governance, behavioral insights, and systems innovation for transitioning to sustainability and regeneration. Dr. Breen is the creator of the EarthQuest climate change and environmental sustainability scenario and simulation game. He lives with his family on sustainable homestead and goat farm in western Albany County, New York.
